CARACTERÍSTICAS PRINCIPAIS
CARACTERÍSTICAS PRINCIPAIS
The Ninja ZX-10R has clearly demonstrated its circuit potential through its superlative results in the Superbike World Championship (WSB)
where Kawasaki riders have absolutely dominated the current season, culminating with the rider’s title for Jonathan Rea, and the manufacturers’ title for Kawasaki.
SIMPLY THE FASTEST ON THE TRACK
With numerous parts benefiting from feedback from the Kawasaki Racing Team as well as ongoing development research, the new Ninja ZX-10R is the closest thing to a highly advanced factory superbike Kawasaki has yet to offer with increased performance designed to give it even quicker lap times on the track.
POWER
THE CLOSEST THING TO A WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPION MACHINE
The track-focused 998 cm3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke in-line four engine offers linear power delivery right to its heady peak power. For maximum track-riding efficiency, great care was taken to ensure ideal engine manageability during all parts of the corner: getting off the throttle in corner entry, getting back on the throttle mid-corner, opening the throttle on corner exit. Peak torque is in the higher rpm range, eliminating the torque peaks and valleys that make it difficult for racers to open the throttle with confidence.
PERFORMANCE
POWER & ACCELERATION
All-new in 2011, the Ninja ZX-10R’s engine balanced stunning power with manageability, and facilitated getting back on the gas by moving peak torque higher up in the rpm range. The new engine maintains this essential character, but offers a stronger low-mid range for increased acceleration coming out of corners.

ELECTRONIC THROTTLE VALVES
NATURAL ENGINE RESPONSE
Kawasaki’s fully electronic throttle actuation system enables the ECU to control the volume of both the fuel (via fuel injectors) and the air (via throttle valves) delivered to the engine. Ideal fuel injection and throttle valve position results in smooth, natural engine response and the ideal engine output. The system also makes a significant contribution to reduced emissions.

EURO 4 COMPLIANT
The engine is more responsive, spinning up more quickly with benefits both for acceleration, deceleration and cornering performance. The feedback from Kawasaki’s WSBK factory race machine and ongoing development research contribute to increased power and Euro 4 emissions compliance.Heat-resistant titanium header pipes and silencer contribute to performance, long-lasting durability, light weight and mass centralisation.

WSB-DEVELOPED SUSPENSION
WSB-DEVELOPED SUSPENSION
The Ninja ZX-10R features a new front fork jointly developed with Showa in the WSBK championship. This technology is making its mass-production debut on the new Ninja ZX-10R. The advanced Showa Balance Free Front Fork is complemented by Showa’s latest rear shock and the new BFRC lite.

SHOWA BFRC LITE
The Horizontal Back-link rear suspension offers excellent performance while contributing to mass centralisation.
Showa’s new BFRC lite rear shock is a lighter, more compact version of their ealier BFRC shock. The high-spec shock unit offers numerous benefits including:
- increased ride comfort
- increased traction
- independently adjustable compression and rebound damping
- reduced weight.

LIGHTER CRANKSHAFT
NIMBLE HANDLING
In addition to the benefits to acceleration and deceleration, reducing the crankshaft’s moment of inertia offers handling benefits as well. With the reduced gyroscopic effect of the rotating crankshaft, handling is lighter, the bike is more flickable, and turn-in is quicker.
Crankshaft has a 20% lower moment of inertia. This revision – one of the most significant changes brought about by feedback from Kawasaki’s WSB factory team – benefits the bike’s overall performance.

IDEAL RIGIDITY
ALUMINIUM SWINGARM
Taking a from-the-tyres-inward approach, Kawasaki’s dynamic modelling program was employed to determine the stresses that would be placed on the swingarm when the tyres are used to their full potential on the circuit. Then advanced dynamic rigidity analysis was used to precisely determine the necessary wall thickness and size to deliver the ideal lateral and torsional rigidity.

Aluminium Swingarm
Longer (+15.8 mm) swingarm contributes to the increased weight on the front. The benefits can be felt during braking, turn-in and when flicking the bike from one side to the other.

KAWASAKI QUICK SHIFTER
Complementing the Ninja ZX-10R’s increased circuit potential, a contactless-type quick shifter enables quick upshifts for seamless acceleration. The system detects that the shift lever has been actuated, and sends a signal to the ECU to cut ignition so that the next gear can be engaged without having to use the clutch.

STYLING
Aerodynamic Bodywork
Larger upper cowl improves the aerodynamic performance of the machine-rider package, offering a lower cdA (coefficient of drag) than the previous model. The increased wind protection (reduced stress from wind blast) enables riders to change positions more smoothly as they set up for corner entry when riding on the track.
