Kawasaki and the US energy drink concern have a long history of successful collaboration on both sides of the Atlantic and, since Monster Energy became the KRT title sponsor in MXGP in 2014, they have found success together with GP victories by France’s Gautier Paulin, US-American superstar Ryan Villopoto and, since he joined the team in 2016, Belgium’s Clement Desalle.

With the return of Desalle and the addition of Romain Febvre, KRT boast the most impressive twin-spearhead in the sport, the duo boasting no less than thirty-six career GP victories between them and both supremely confident of yet more success aboard the incomparable KX450-SR factory bike. KRT has enjoyed a proud history in the motocross world championship for more than a quarter of a century with an impressive list of world titles for Stefan Everts, Sebastien Tortelli and Mickael Maschio.

KRT’s high-profile commitment in the MXGP world series has been directed for the past twelve years by Thierry Chizat Suzzoni, the accomplished French entrepreneur taking over the reigns following the untimely death of the team founder, the genial Dutch tuner Jan de Groot. With a keen eye for talent and social compatibility Thierry has diligently built a closely-knit workforce under the technical direction of distinguished engineer François Lemariey to deliver, together with the full factory support of Kawasaki Japan, worldwide success for the KX450-SR, the flagship of Kawasaki’s off-road range.

Throughout recent years KRT has developed an intimate working relationship and technical exchange with Kawasaki Motors Europe, Kawasaki Japan and the Kawasaki Motors Corporation in the USA. The close ties and outstanding success on both sides of the Atlantic proved to be a key factor in the decision of Monster Energy, a long-term partner of Kawasaki in the USA, to extend their mutual identity as official partner to KRT in the FIM MXGP World Motocross Championship, a relationship which has has been bonded successfully since 2014. KRT’s strong commitment to success and an immaculate image is intensified this year by the addition of the world-famous Italian outfitters Alpine Stars as official partner for all team clothing requirements.
