Adam Sterry twice top ten in Indonesia

Adam Sterry of the F&H Racing Team took his Kawasaki KX250F to two top ten finishes in the Asian GP, thirteenth round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship, at Semarang in Indonesia.

A massive crowd saw the Welshman use Kawasaki power to streak out of the gate in both GP motos despite a disadvantageous gate after a disappointing qualification at the fast hardpack track on the outskirts of Indonesia fifth-largest city, and, rebuilding his season after a difficult start with injury, Adam rode two solid races. A single mistake as the rear wheel slid out on the polished surface late in the first moto cost him the sixth place which he had held since the opening lap; he quickly remounted but had lost two positions in the incident and took the chequered flag eighth. Another superb opening lap in race two saw him again as high as sixth at one stage but a mistake cost him several places and he eventually finished tenth.

Adam Sterry: "We already made progress last weekend and they did a good job with the track here. I didn’t felt so great on Saturday and didn’t ride so well but I was much better today. I held sixth place for most of the first race before I lost two positions when I made a mistake three laps from the end but it was still a solid race. My first lap was again really good in race two but then I made a small mistake and that put me a long way back. Two times top ten was the goal this weekend and that’s what we achieved so I’m happy to be flying home safe from the two Indonesian rounds as we’ll now visit some of my favourite tracks like Loket. I’m excited about that, and the entire team will keep working together to achieve even better results."
