Kawasaki Supersport Riders Join Supported Test

Some of Kawasaki’s top WorldSSP and WorldSSP300 riders joined many of their rivals on track for two days of testing action at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona between 29 and 30 March.

In what was a first opportunity to gauge the level of competition in the build-up to the WorldSSP race season itself, some new Ninja ZX-6R riders got some important track time at Barcelona. Raffaele De Rosa (Orelac Racing VerdNatura Kawasaki) was seventh overall, while former WorldSBK race winner Michel Fabrizio (Motozoo Racing by Puccetti Kawasaki) placed 18th from 28 riders as he continues his racing comeback at world level.

In the WorldSSP300 class reigning World Champion Jeffrey Buis (MTM Kawasaki) secured the second fastest lap time overall, with his new team-mate from Spain, Adrian Huertas, third quickest. 2018 World Champion Ana Carrasco (Provec Racing Kawasaki) was a midfield finisher at her home circuit, despite sliding off unhurt at one stage on the final day.

The 2021 season for both WorldSSP categories will start for real at Motorland Aragon, between 21-23 May.
